Installation Apprentice
This position assists with the installation of low voltage systems as directed by a training technician. You will learn in the field and also be eligible to attend evening apprenticeship classes. The work location will vary depending on project but it will normally be a new or heavy renovation construction site with some occupied building work.
Job Responsibilities
- Know, follow, and demonstrate all guidelines outlined in Company Employment Manual.
- Follow direction of training technician and retain knowledge for professional growth.
- Maintains positive relationships with customers, contractors, and other employees.
- Promotes job site safety, encourages safe work practices.
- Keep and maintain company issued safety & work equipment.
- Report all job site developments to the on-site supervisor.
- Possess and maintain hand tools necessary for systems installations.
Job Requirements
Organization: Utilizes and promotes strong organizational skills. Exhibit effective time management and while developing installation skills.
Communication: Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently. Employs effective listening skills.
Problem Solving: Ability to make sound decisions in a timely manner based on objectives.
Interpersonal Skills: Willingness to take direction and retain the knowledge gained. Tactful and mature demeanor including the ability to work well in a team environment.
Technical: High School diploma or equivalent preferred. Possess the desire to obtain an understanding of fire alarm systems installation.
General: Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record. Must pass a background check and drug test. Be able to safely perform physically including heavy lifting 50 pounds, climbing ladders, and operating power drills/saws. Must be able to pass state and federal background check (criminal record or federal watch lists). Must be eligible for US employment. Be able to work from elevated heights.
