Service Apprentice
This is an entry-level position in which your role will be to assist Service Technicians with fire alarm system testing, inspections, and repairs. You will also be expected to learn from your experiences. Apprenticeship classes will be available.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist Technician in performing repairs or inspections of low voltage systems
- Check work calendar and report to indicated (work) location on time and ready to work
- Encourage customer satisfaction
- Fill out Service Acknowledgement form on each jobsite
- Maintain positive relationships with customers, contractors, and other employees
- Promote job site safety, encourage safe work practices
- Keep and maintain company issued safety & work equipment
- Possess and maintain hand tools necessary for work
Job Requirements
Organization: Utilizes and promotes strong organizational skills. Exhibit effective time management while developing installation skills.
Communication: Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently. Employs effective listening skills.
Problem Solving: Ability to make sound decisions in a timely manner based on objectives. Helps to have a “puzzle-solving” mentality.
Interpersonal Skills: Willingness to take direction and retain knowledge gained. Tactful and mature demeanor. Be self-motivating.
Technical: High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
General: Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record. Must pass a background check and drug test. Be able to safely perform physically including heavy lifting 50 pounds, climbing ladders, and operating power drills/saws. Must be able to pass state and federal background check (criminal record or federal watch lists). Must be eligible for US employment. Be able to work from elevated heights.
